Pride of Pune - BKS Iyengar gets Padma Vibhushan! The noun "Iyengar" is defined by Oxford Dictionaries as "a type of astanga yoga...", named after B.K.S.Iyengar, its deviser! Mr. Iyengar (95), who founded the Iyengar school of yoga that has millions of followers across the globe, has been awarded the Padma Vibhushan, India’s second highest civilian honour. He was also named by TIME magazine as one of the 100 most influential persons in the world.
In an interview to Indian Express he dedicated this award to Pune and Puneites and said "Credit for this honour goes to all Puneites. It’s their blessings which have brought me this award."
